Third Monday and Auction later in that week in June
The Family Fun Night is held on the third Monday of June at the Farmers Market in downtown Rocky Mount, VA.  This is a night for families with young children to come out and enjoy games, cake walks, face painting, food, popcorn, cotton candy and more.  Bluegrass music, flatfooting contests, and dance demonstrations are available for people of all ages to enjoy.  Come on out and do a little flat footing and maybe win a prize.  The fun begins at 6PM. 

The RMA Auction is a fund raiser to help us cover the costs of the Fun Festival and provide funds for other community events that we sponsor.  This is held during the week after the Fun Festival.  The Auction is now being held in the FC Senior Center at 136 Tanyard Rd (American Legion Bldg) starting at 6 PM.  

(Update 6/16/09: The Family Fun Night was held on Monday, June 15, 2009, with a Hot Dog Festival theme.  Arrington Enterprises and Flowers Bakery sponsored free hog dogs to the first 150 people.  Though cloudy skies threatened, the rain held off and the cooler temperatures provided a pleasant atmosphere for all to enjoy.  See more pictures on our Fun Festival 2009 page.

The Auction was held on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Senior Center, starting at 6PM.  Local businessmen and individuals donate a wide variety of items for the auction and gift certificates are donated from attractions as far away as Branson, Mo.  The Auction will be held at the  Senior Center at 136 Tanyard Road, Rocky Mount, VA.  

First Friday and Saturday of November
This craft show is an opportunity for local crafters to show and sell their wares.  Held on the first Friday from 5PM -9PM and Saturday from 9AM -5PM, at the Senior Center at 136 Tanyard Rd.  Come early to have the best choice of gifts to give to your family and friends.  Contact us to sign up as an exhibitor. 

First Sunday of December
Each year the annual Christmas Parade starts at 3PM on the first Sunday of December each year.  This event brings back the memories of long ago with kids of all ages lining the streets to see the floats, bands, emergency vehicles, choirs, scout troops, horses, cars, and, of course, Santa Claus.  The Parade begins at the top of Tanyard Hill and follows Main St, Floyd Av, and Franklin St back to the intersection with Main St.
