Franklin County Retail Merchants Association, Inc. (FCRMA) provides services to businesses in Franklin County, VA.  We began on June 10, 1956, with 35 members as a hub for businesses in Rocky Mount, VA, and have grown to include all of Franklin County.  We are a member in good standing with the Virginia RMA.

Contest 2012 

Midpoint update. 

At the midpoint of this year’s Franklin County Retail Merchants Association Contest, “Best Burger in Franklin County 2012”, La Tratorria Italian Restaurant in Union Hall, has a good lead over the next closest participant, Dudley’s Truck Stop Restaurant on US 220N.

Following those two are the Hub Restaurant, Seventy Seven Restaurant in Ferrum, Hardy’s #2821, Dairy Queen in Penhook, Jonathan’s Restaurant, Naff’s Country Store and Grill in Henry, Hot Shots at Westlake, Pizza King in Rocky Mount, Whistle Stop in Union Hall and Pit Stop Market & Deli on US 220S.

The “Best Specialty Food in Franklin County 2012” leader at the midpoint is Two by Two Barbeque in Rocky Mount, followed by NoBologna Sub’s & Deli at Westlake, Fisherman’s Galley on 220N, Angle Dining Room, Pizza Hut, Arby’s Roast Beef (all  in Rocky Mount), and Joe’s Pizza in Westlake.

These businesses and FCRMA express their appreciation for all of the customers who make this a successful promotion.  Donations will be collected through April 30, so stop in and support your “Favorite Place to Eat in Franklin County.”



PANCAKE DAY - CANCELED

FCRMA is sad to report that due to a lack of volunteers to properly hold this event it has been canceled.

The Boones Mill Garden Club will be at the market on May 5, 2012, with their very reasonably priced plants, so come out to support them.

2012 Sales Tax Holidays are announced.

The Virginia Retail Merchants Association has announced the dates of the 2012 Sales Tax Holidays.

Mark your calendars for the new year of sales tax holidays! Virginia has three: May through October.

May 25-31, 2012: Hurricane Preparedness
August 3-5, 2012: Back to School
October 5-8, 2012: Energy Star and WaterSense

2011 Edition of Yesterday and Today is available.

The newest edition (40th) is on hand for purchase as are many previous issues in case you are trying to complete your set.

This is a cookbook of recipes obtained from members that celebrates the 55th Anniversary of FCRMA. FCRMA began in June of 1956 and this is our 55th year. We thank all of our members who submitted recipes to be included in this cookbook and businesses who advertised in it.
